Update on Progress

1. Reasonable adjustment policy and process communicated to managers and employees in July 2010.

2. Meeting with Stakeholders round the business following a self assessment of disability.

3. Communication guide to be issued to all employees via the intranet. The guide (produced by the Employers Forum on Disability) will be jointly branded with L&G has been road tested with line managers, employees(with out without a disability) and has had an excellent response.

4 . We met a specialist in recruiting people with disabilities. We have put the learning into the Cooper RFP.

5. New Equalities questions where introduced into a number of interim employee surveys , which provided previously unavailable data . Specific disability questions were introduced into the full 2010 survey to enable us understand more about our disabled employees, and to help us to baseline and measure our progress in the coming years.

6. We held a focus group with disabled employees in Cardiff which was very positively received.

893 Days in 2010 across the Group. Structured Management programme SMaRT Scheme and Social entrepreneur mentoring delivered involving 40 managers in 2010. BITC Volunteering team of the year awards in Cardiff and South East. Stronger link between development plans and volunteering developed. This represents an 12.8% engagement rate for Employees.

Update on Progress

£3.2 million has been put into the Third Sector in 2010. This is the highest ever for our business. Increases in employee volunteering, employee matched finding schemes, use of our locations by charities and investment in business projects have all increased in 2010. Community donations has remained constant throughout 2009 / 10 across our UK Locations.
